Lately I’ve found myself going back to my musical roots, in a manner of speaking. I find myself listening to a lot of stuff that I loved back in high school, specifically, Electronic music.
For those who don’t know me, back in my high school days, I was pretty heavily into the Rave scene. Unlike many though, it was more about the music for me, and less (much less) about the drugs. I was probably one of the only raver kids I knew who could listen to Happy Hardcore without being high. 
Anyway, as time went on, like most I grew out of the rave scene and stopped going to clubs eventually. The music stuck with me for a while, but eventually I “grew out of” that as well, and began listening to other kinds of music….until recently.
I’m not entirely sure what did it, but I just suddenly found myself searching out and listening to a lot of the bands and DJs that I loved back then, Underworld (whom I once claimed was and always would be my all-time favourite band…ever.), Prodigy, Roni Size, Dieselboy, Richie Hawtin, Mr. Oizo, Goldfrapp….all these names came flooding back and I find my iPod and VLC playlists populated with bass-heavy, pulsating beats and synthesizers…and dear GOD I’ve missed this stuff.
