You Need To Hear This! is a different take on Music blogging. Most blogs dealing with Music tend to focus on brand new album reviews and industry news…this one won’t be doing that, necessarily.
My intent with this blog is clear and simple: To share with people music that I enjoy and help them understand why I enjoy it and why I think they should give it a listen themselves.
People reading this blog will discover that I have a very broad taste in music, and more often than not, the music you’ll see on here won’t be coming from the top 40 stations on your radio. This is not to say that I don’t enjoy some of what shows up on Top 40 radio stations, but the fact of the matter is, you’ve probably already been exposed to that, due to the saturation of Top 40-style radio in North America (and possibly Europe too, though I’ve never listened to European radio, so what do I know?).
I will endeavour to post daily about one album or another that I happen to be listening to at the time and my thoughts on it. It might end up being a new album, it might end up being something that was released a year ago, or perhaps even decades ago.
All that said, I hope you enjoy my little reviews, and I hope that at least some of you end up listening to the albums that I talk about on here…it’s my belief that far too often these days, we see mediocre artists producing shallow, meaningless music in the name of simply becoming rich and famous usurping truly interesting, challenging, worthwhile artists producing music that is written for the love of writing and just for the love of music itself.
